Potato Poha


Serves 2


    • Thick Poha (Flattened Rice): 2 cup
    • Potato: 1 Large (cut into cubes)
    • Curry Leaves: 4-5
    • Tomato: 1 (Optional)
    • Sugar: 1 tbsp
    • Lemon: 1/4 or Lime: 1/2
    • Hing/asafoetida: Pinch
    • Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
    • Salt: to taste
    • Oil: 2 tbsp
    • Mustard Seeds: 1/4 tsp
    • Coriander: for garnishing
    • Green Chilli: 2-3 slit



Wash poha under cold water in a colander and keep it aside.

Heat oil in pan and add mustard seeds. Wait until the mustard seeds crackle and then add hing/asafoetida, curry leaves, chillies. Add cubed potatoes, turmeric, and salt. Let it fry until potatoes are cooked. Sprinkle some water if needed. Add sugar, lemon, coriander leaves and tomatoes. Let it fry until all ingredients are well coated. Add poha and mix.

Ready to serve Potato Poha.
