- 1 Cup raw mango shredded
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- few drops lemon juice
Method 1 (Quick)
To a pan add mango and sugar. Let both of them cook on a low flame until the sugar melts and thickens. Add lemon juice to prevent sugar crystallizing. and red chilli powder.
Method 2 (Traditional Method)
To a stainless steel container add sugar and mango. Tie a cloth on the container opening and keep it in the sun. This process can take up to 10 days. Once all the sugar is dissolved and has a thick consistency, add lemon juice. The lemon juice will prevent the sugar syrup from crystallizing. Add red chilli powder. When this is prepared by this method, it will stay good for up to 1 year.
Can be served with all indian dished.
