Kande Pohe

  • 2 cups poha
  • 1 medium sized onion chopped
  • 3 tbsp peanuts
  • 3 green chillies slit
  • 6 curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • Pinch of hing/asafoetida
  • 1.5 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric

Wash 2 cups of poha under cold water in a colander and keep it aside for 15 minutes.

In the meantime, heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds start crackling add hing, chillies, and curry leaves. Then add chopped onions and let them cook. Add salt to cook the onions faster.

Add peanuts and fry them for a minute or two. Then add turmeric, sugar, and lemon juice. Finally, add the washed poha and mix well.

Kande pohe is ready to be served.
