Churma Laddoo

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups coarse whole wheat flour
  • 4 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
  • ghee for deep-frying
  • 3/4 cup chopped jaggery
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • poppy seeds for rolling
  • Water

Preparation:

Mix the whole wheat flour and water in a bowl and knead a stiff dough. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into the shape of your fist. Heat the ghee in a pan and deep-fry on medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. After they have cooled down to room temperature break them into small pieces and blend in a mixer to a fine powder. Heat  4tbsp ghee in another pan. Add jaggery and mix well and cook on a slow flame for  4 minutes. Combine the fine powder(churma), cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and melted jaggery bowl and mix very well. Allow the mixture to cool slightly. Now make balls of the mixture and roll them in poppy seeds.

Ready to serve Churma Laddoo.
