Mamra/ Puffed Rice



  • 4 cups mamra/ puffed rice
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1/2 tbsp chilli powder
  • pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • salt to taste


Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and let them crackle, add turmeric powder, salt and hing mix well and mix on a medium flame for 30 seconds. Add the puffed rice and mix well so that they are covered with the turmeric oil. Take them off the flame and add chilli powder and give it a very good mix.
