Bharva Bhindi/ Stuffed Okra

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups slit bhindi/ okra
  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida/ hing
  • 2 tsp coriander-cumin powder
  • 1 tsp dried mango powder (amchur)
  • salt to taste
  • 5 tbsp oil

Preparation:

Dry roast besan for 5 minutes in a pan. Remove it in a mixing bowl and let it cool. Once cool enough to handle add all the spices to it. Fill each slit bhindi with a little of the prepared besan mixture and keep aside. Keep the remaining masala aside. Heat oil in a pan, add the stuffed bhindi with the remaining masala, cook on a medium flame for 15 min or till the bhindi is cooked and has changed colour, whilst stirring occasionally.

Ready to serve Bharva Bhindi.
