Vegetable Schezwan Fried Rice



  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 small red onions (sliced/chopped)
  • 2 small red Capsicum (sliced)
  • 1 medium Carrot (Cut into small slices)
  • 3 tsp Schezwan Paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup Cabbage (sliced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (finely diced)
  • 1 inch ginger (finely diced)


Boil water in a pan for rice. Once the water starts to boil, add rice, salt, and a drizzle of oil. Boil for about 10 minutes or until rice is little under cooked.

In the meantime, heat oil in wok/pan and add garlic and ginger. Let the garlic and ginger saute for a while and turn a light brown. Then add onions and cabbage. Saute until cooked. Next add carrot and capsicum. Add salt to taste. Once all the vegetables are cooked, add schezwan paste to pan. Toss all the vegetables so that the schezwan paste has coated all of them.

Drain the rice and add to the wok/pan. Let the rice cook with the schezwan mixture and serve once done.
