Fansi Bateka nu shak /Green beans and Potato Curry




  • 250 gms chopped french beans
  • 2  medium sized diced potatoes
  • 1 tsp carom seeds/ ajmo
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander-cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • salt to taste
  • water
  • 2 tsp of oil


Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add Carom seeds and let them crackle. Add hing and all the spices and fry them for 30 secs on slow flame. Add beans and potatoes and 1 cup water. Close the cooker and cook it on a medium flame for 3 whistles. Ready to serve Fansi Bateka nu Shak. Enjoy it with roti or rice.
